Visitor and Local Attractions - Waterford

Jack Meades "Pub Garden"

Jack Meades "Pub Garden" was named by The Sunday Times 13/06/2010 Travel Guide as one of 10 Great Pub Gardens in the British Isles and the only one in Ireland to be recommended. It plays host to ducks on the stream, and to the goats, a Jacobs sheep, ponies and donkeys who live happily together.

Jack Meades Heritage

The extensive grounds are a combination of heritage and environmental harmony. The old ice house and lime kiln have been restored, a walk has been created along the tidal stream and around the perimeter of the grounds back to the agricultural museum which takes you back in time to the days of the working horse.

The House of Waterford Crystal Visitor Centre

The newly opened Visitor Centre in Waterford City has received great acclaim. It puts Waterford back where it belongs at the top of the visitor attractions list. It is central to a very historical part of Waterford - Reginalds Tower, Greyfriars Museum and Christ Church Cathedral to name but a few. Jack Meades is a mere 6kms from these great places and well worth a visit to take in it's pub dating back to c1705 as well as it's interesting surrounds.

Local Beaches

3 beaches a short trip from Jack Meades. Woodstown Beach is only 3 miles, Dunmore East is but 6miles and Tramore is 10 miles. Enjoy a day in the sun and finish the day in Jack Meades, where the children can play and adults relax.

The Three Villages Scenic Drive

This scenic drive commences at Jack Meades and on to Cheekpoint Village. From there to Passage East. On leaving Passage head through Woodstown and on to the famous Dunmore East. This lovely drive is a great favourite as it takes in some marvelous scenery with many stopping places along the way. Then don't forget to return to "Jacks" to finish the day.
